Topic of master’s thesis: A SWMM 5 program simulation of wastewater network functioning in Norwid’s estate in Puławy
The aim of this master's thesis work was a realization of sewage system model for Norwid's estate in Pulawy and analysis of system work for few different rain variants. The work has two parts: theoretical and analytical.
Theoretical part is divided on two subsections. First contains basic information relating to the sewage system, and projecting methods of sewage distribution system, mainly wastewater system. In this subsection there are described also basic requirements relating to this systems with hydraulic calculations of channels. Second subsection contains programs' review of modeling and projecting wastewater systems, and presents advantages and possibilities of those programs. In this part were also described EPA SWMM 5 basic functions with their short characteristic.
The analytical part contains Norwid's estate description and general characteristic of located there wastewater network. In this chapter there are also assumptions to the computer model (what was received, during the computer model building). In the next part of this chapter there was presented wastewater system work simulation for 9 different kinds of rains, analysis and interpretation of received results. The analysis were conducted for rains at the rain duration 10, 30, 60 minutes and occurrence frequency once on 2, 5 and 10 year. Those analysis enabled to find most unfavorable sections of the net, and delimitation flooding most menaced places. Also data sources used to build this model, and tips relating to extension the network, mainly assumptions which should be skiped are described.
At the end of this master's thesis work there is an annex on CD disc, with SWMM file, contains Norwid's estate wastewater network model. Thanks this file far extension of the patern will be possible.
